Not to rain on your parade, but I think it's pretty bad that we think of 6 as "older aged!" We really need to care for our dogs in a way that promotes longevity; 6 is not old!!!!!!!!!! You're right; there are younger dogs who look like crap.

I don't think 6 is old for a dog. A dog is getting old at 10 or 12, but not 6.

Good gosh, 6 yrs old is NOT old, and she's been obviously well taken care of throughout her life so far. I think Nayss is beautiful.

Six is OLD?? WTF???

What have we done to this breed that we think six is old!

Want to guess how old the dog in this picture is? We were halfway through a very rugged hike on a hot August day. In order to reach the lookout where this picture was taken, at one point we had to crawl...it was that steep! The more level section of the trail was littered with fallen trees that had to be jumped or climbed over.

My 12 year old GSD bitch slept very well that night, and so did I!

That's her in my avatar. too. I like to say we went gray together...LOL!

That's what I meant! Nothing against the dog or the poster, just the WTF about a dog being old, like SS said- what have we done when 6 seems old?!

wow...since when is 6 considered old?

My Misty is going to be 8 years old this summer...and I would not consider her old at all....great energy, great obedience, and she can hold her own with younger dogs..she is my Alfa dog...
