Your dog's sire and dam are probably not in the database. This website is entirely voluntary and each owner can choose to enter their dogs or not.

May I entered the parents names on the Pedigree Database so that I can see the pedigree on my dog?

Yes, you may. Just be very careful to enter the names EXACTLY as spelled on whatever pedigree you have. Many dogs have been entered in the database more than once, due to slight variations in spelling of their names.
For example, Hoheneichen's Magnum has no fewer than 4 entries in the database, as some people included his titles as part of his name, and some spelled the name with an apostrophe, others without, and one person just plain misspelled it! www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/search.html
Also, enter all the info you have such as titles, AKC registration number, the dog's hip status, colour and size. This will help anyone trying to research pedigrees to know what is in their pup's ancestry..
You can also enter previous generations, too, if you have that information. Hopefully, you will be able to 'hook them up' to some of the dogs already in the database, and have a more or less complete pedigree without any blanks!
The software will do this automatically, if you select the correct names. You will have to hit 'refresh' to see the full pedigree.

you may have to go back and put the grand parents information in first before you can put in the parents information, if not on here. etc , etc..
