My dog is a year and a half and likes to attack my snow shovel! He sounds like I am torturing him every time I move the shovel and it embarassess me because I am not attacking him with it lol. I am simply moving it and he goes crazy! Is there a solution to this and why does he behave like that? I am wondering if he was abused by it before I adopted him when he was 5 months old??? He is a happy dog except for the shovel

Nope just the quirkiness of the breed:) Both of mine attack a water hose like i am killing them.My neighbors all come to watch. As they are having a blast but just bark and freak out like its the end of the world if they dont kill the hose. And my female goes off everytime i sweep the floor. Bites the broom like it can be killed. So no most likely not abused it is just the one thing yours doesnt like!!

Mine used to do the same thing with the broom, as well as the vaccuum cleaner. To this day I have to crate her when I'm cleaning. She can and WILL pick the vaccuum clear up off the floor and walk away with it while it's TURNED ON if I don't stop her. LOL.

Sounds normal to me:-) All of my dogs like to kill the hose, broom, shovel, rake, etc.......... :-)))))
I will let my dogs do this but eventually the work needs to get done and they need to stop!

If you want a solution you need to teach your dog how to down & stay or put him away.
