Question:
If you purchased a puppy, from a breeder, that was 1200 miles (one way) away from you, would you drive or fly to go get it?

Note:
At eight weeks the puppy may be to big to put in a carry on crate and would have to be checked as baggage.

What are your thoughts on checking him in as baggage with you on the return flight?

Fly, definately.

Flying is less traumatic for an 8 week old puppy then for an older dog or adult. They tend to bounce back very quickly.

If you wanted to see the puppy before purchase, then driving would be your only option.

Be sure you see the puppy face to face before you buy him. Also, see his dam and littermates. Flying the pup as baggage should present no problems.

Thanks Melissa & Ms. Penery,

I had planned on meeting the breeder, both parents and his litter-mates before completing the purchase.
I was a little worried that a plane belly ride at eight weeks might be overly stressful for the pup, so would be willing to drive out to get him.
