Hi All,

I bred my bitch Feb 4,6 and 8th. I went for an ultrasound this past Wednesday and the vet palpated and said pretty sure shes pregnant, lets do a quick check with the ultrasound machine. Well, that told us no pups. My question is my bitch was on her side during the ultrasound, in past experiences they have always been on their backs. My gut is telling me shes pregnant. I am wondering if she did not take until the later breeding was it too soon to ultrasound her? and was the position of the dog the best to view pregnancy at? I am going to call tomorrow to set up another scan for the end of the week but would be interested in views from others. Thanks!

More than likely, the US was too early.  Say for instance, that she actually ovulated on Feb 8, then the breeding should have taken, however, an ultrasound may not have detected since she would only be day 23 last Wednesday.
