I have a Chihuahua mix that refuses to poop in the snow. I put on her sweater and carry her outside but she just stands there and won't do anything. Later when I come home she has done her business in the house again. Any suggestions?

Shovel a spot for her in the snow.
Take some of the little suprise she left you and put it in the cleared space.
Put her in the cleared space to do her business.
You could also try crating her when you leave the house.

A couple of things. A large litter box either rindoors or outdoors?
Outdoors, a large piece of indor/outdoor carpet looks like grass.

Have you tried the "Potty Patch" www.besttvbuys.com/pottypatch/ver3/index.asp
or the "Porch Potty" yet www.porchpotty.com/ .
I have heard several people with smaller dogs had success with that.

In addition to the other suggestions (make sure you clear a spot for her, consider setting up a litterbox inside if she was paper-trained as a baby, moving to Florida), you might need to consider getting boots for her to wear when it's cold enough for her to need the sweater...and the sweater might not be warm enough for a thin-coated dog like a Chihuahua mix, so she might need an actual coat before she'll stay outside long enough to take care of her toileting.
Another thing you can try is to use a glycerin suppository for infants; if you take her out, and you've given her enough time to go but she still refuses, gently insert the suppository into the rectum and then walk her around for a few minutes. Should do the trick.

Prince, try dipping your jewels in the snow next time you need to go potty. Willing to bet you tighten up a bit also.
