Has anyone ever heard of a tobacco detector dog. I have have an itch to teach train Cam for some type of detection work. I have trained him to passive alert on his ball. He loves it. I would like to transition to some type of substance. I would love to do narcotics but I cannot afford Pseudos.

Just curious has this ever been done, or if tobacco detection was ever utilized?

yes it has been done and my boss has done it. along with cell phones .. No fun for the prisoners who want both cell phones and tobacco..
we train drug dogs and bomb dogs also and would never recomend pseudo since in court there can be some big problems it the trainer or handler takes the stand.. Just a FYI

 Good luck..
If you could figure it out train to detect bed bugs that could make you some money.. LOL

I've been training and selling a lot of single purpose narc dogs to stoners. Apparently, they are realizing the benefits. After they get high, they use the dogs to relocate their weed.

Many prison systems are utilizing contraband sniffing dogs. Basically anything that is not allowed in prison.

Another thing to think about is a dog that detects low blood glucose.

I start my own dogs on gun powder.

Kelly- I had the first Certified Tobacco Detection dog working in Canada, I then put a Cell phone profile on her. We were very successful, training the scent in no different than drugs.

Keep in mind that like drugs there are many types of tobacco to train with, East Indian Chewing tobacco, counterfeit from China & Russia, Sisha/Nacla -hookah pipe tobacco mixed with fruit scents and raw leaf tobacco to name a few.
