 Robin,
I use this food...the Primitive one is the highest grade of theirs so that is the only one I've used. My dogs do good on it. I mix it with TOTW and/or Fromm as well. But my dogs are also mostly raw fed....they probably get 60% raw and 40% kibble. Anyway, I've had no problems with it. A good site if you've never seen it is http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/
You may have to copy/paste that link...some computers don't like my Mac! But the food it rated if you look under reviews. It tells WHY it's rated what it is rated. The good, the bad. I try to stay in the 5 and 6 star range.

I had a little Czech female board with me last summer for a breeding and she eats the Primitive as well. She does great on it, has no problems.

The only thing I see that could be a problem is the calories per kilo cup at 717;  usually they are between 350/400 is average, EVO beef is 535.  Seems a little high to me. not sure what is making up those calories but might be OK for hard working dogs.??  That was the grain free with the wolf on the bag.  Didn't look at the others.  It is turkey/chicken/fish;  sounds good.  But would question the calories.  Nan

I ordered some (Primitive) and had it shipped to a couple of my dogs staying w/a friend. He says they love it. They seem to be doing great on it, too. He's a little slow and likes the ziploc-type slider close thingy and the shiny bag. LOL- Happy Birthday, you know who you are.

In all seriousness though, I really like the ingredients for the cost- far more meat sources than almost all other kibbles, and the first 3 ingredients are meat meals, so it's meat content far outweighs anything else. Also, potatoes only appear once. Not that potatoes are bad, but when they appear in several forms, you start to wonder how much is starch and how much is meat.

I hear it's tiny little pieces, which some people won't like.

I have not used it but a friend of mine with a very hard keeper does.  Her male is now in glorious weight and I swear his fur is an inch longer.  He looked really awful on other kibbles and had to eat over 6 cups a day and still was bone thin.  Could be this feed will be valuable for that type of dog and perhaps others will need less to keep their dogs in fine shape.  Two of my dogs are on total raw and four on about 50% kibble (Orijen or Evo) and 50% raw and I am considering trying the Primitive for the kibble.  Barb

Barb, glad you brought that up. This is so much richer and higher calorie than other foods, I'm thinking of adding an extra meal of this to Caleb's food (mostly raw). He is the definition of hard keeper. I used to have to feed him up to SIX cups of Orijen even. He's getting old,  but still is hell to keep enough weight on to hide his pelvic/hip bones.

This seems like it might be a really efficient way to add calories without feeding an exorbitant amount of kibble, which I hate to do, but really...who can afford to feed a dog an entire chicken or turkey every day? When I was feeding him whole, large chickens, he looked pretty good, but that cost me $6/meal.

Jenn, I thought that's why people raised cats.

<Doh!> Geez, Don, don't I feel like the guy who gets out of the shower to pee.

I just ordered a couple of bags.....I'm going to try it.
Does anyone know of another "on line" store to buy it from?....that may have a better price?
Thanks,
Robin
