if your dog is more than a year old u should take him cycling dont make him gallop just trot. u will see the difference in a couple of weeks.
coat really depends on diet , fish oil supplements help. although carrots and vegerables do wonders for me.

Feed a well-researched raw diet - no grains, no kibble crap. This will do wonders for increasing muscle and improving the coat.
Swimming, cycling, lots of fetch. Have fun with your dog!
