I am wondering – the guy is sooooooooo sorry about his shot dogs, but why did his dogs run loose outside the house in the first place charging the guy walking his dog on a leash? Is it a “normal” occurrence for those dogs to be outside unattended? If so, I figure, the guy was expecting more attacks from those dogs and he wasn’t wrong... If those dogs would attack/injure my dog previously and charged again – I would fire my gun, too.
Some owners like to see their dogs be the dominant/attackers. I had a couple in my town with two pit bulls. They would wait until there was only one dog in the park and let their dogs loose…The ferocious two-on-one attack would follow with pit bull owners watching it with the smile.. My dog has been attacked this way and I sometimes wish I had a gun on me too.
My friend walks his dog armed but only because of coyotes that tried to kill his dog in his presence in the past…
