OT..How are the casinos in Chicago...????

I lived in the western US for a good part of my life and Las Vegas casinos are the only casinos I have known...We are considering taking my dad for a birthday weekend getaway.....Can anyone direct me to a nice casino in the northeastern part of the US......Thanks.....

      There has been a slight change in plans. My sister who lives in IN would like to meet us in Chicago......Has anyone been to the casinos there...????? Thanks........

I don't think Chicago has any Casino's, I think they're all in IN. But we went to one to start a bachelor party right on the border, and I gotta say I was disgusted. Don't remember the name though. The hotel was nice, great rooms, but casino atmosphere is definitely not for me

I don't think i'll ever go back to a casino in my life. I saw so many people who had two motor skills down pat. Pull the lever and put cigarette to lips, then pull lever again. They couldnt' walk, they knew their way around a buffett, that was obvious.

Very depressing I thought.

There are casinos near Chicago. Hollywood in Aurora, Joliet has one Harras , both of these are in Illinois. One in indiana near Indiana. I live near the one in Aurora it is a legitamate big casino, have not been to the others. One of these are as magnififent as the new Vegas. Probably more on par with the old vegas.

There are no casinos in Chicago. Horseshoe casino is close to Chicago in Indiana, Harrahs is south in Joliet, Empress is also in Joliet and I would pick that one of the three. Joliet is about an hour south of the city. None of them are that great IMO.
There is also Patowatomi in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
