But, but, but if I ask him if he wants corn or meat, he barks when I say corn

Hmm. I dunno then.
The conversion to compare raw to dry is what I thought was useful. So many ask how to figure protein, fat, etc. from raw to kibble....I get tired of typing all that;-)

It is NOT TRUE that corn doesn't have any nutritional value! If this were true, dogs fed that Science Diet crap would waste away and die of starvation!
Corn DOES have nutritional value, just not GOOD nutritional value!

The very top Kibbles do not contain Wheat or Corn in fact there are many Grain free Kibbles of which i use one or two myself, i hate grains such as these mentioned in this survey in dog kibbles

I'm confused about the carbs. It states that carbs are NOT good and yet it's the raw/sold frozen diet that is shown to contain carbs? And why the double question marks on the carb content of the kibble? Does it contain carbs or not? Am I reading it right or am I missing something?

I would also venture to say that there's more question marks as GMO foods haven't even been properly test for human consumption, let alone the pet trade and it comprises about 90% of all grains/vegetables in our market. Then there's the hormone/anitbiotic laden meats... so, in the end, is the analysis complete? Do we really KNOW what we're feeding our dogs, when we're not even sure what we're putting in our own mouths?
Correction: I looked it up and it's 70%, not 90%

You're reading it wrong, Travels. Or not really reading it wrong, but not interpreting it correctly; the raw food SHOWS the percentage of carbs. The icky food on the right doesn't even tell you, because it's almost ALL carbs! Dr. Becker just included the 2 as a typical comparison that a buyer might be faced with at the store.
You're all overthinking this a bit...the chart on how to convert is the main thing that you don't find anywhere and that a lot of us don't already know. We can go round and round on the other stuff and never agree any more than we already do, but at least for me, having a simple formula to compare my grain free kibbles to my raw foods is really useful for judging what percentages seem to be ideal for my particular dogs.
Dr. Becker is a phenomenal vet, BTW, if anyone needs a great vet in the Bourbonnais, IL area. She's about an hour and a half from me, so I don't go there regularly, but when I had a dog w/gaping holes in her neck from a metal allergy and knew full well this was an auto-immune problem caused by over-vaccination at the same time as a botched spay (as in blood spurting out on my windows whenever the dog would put her paws on the sill, courtesy of one of our fine shelter vets up here) but wasn't sure what to do after I'd made improvement but not 100%, I made the trip and was not disappointed.
She sat on the floor w/her for close to 45 minutes assessing the WHOLE dog. She concurred about the cause and after a week of following her suggestions on products (products she doesn't even sell sometimes), Mia was totally cleared up and has never had a recurrence of this. I could've spent a ton on countless allergy tests, so I really liked her approach to the cause (weak immune system as a result of intestinal damage) instead of just treating symptoms. If I can dig up before and after pics, you'll all be really grossed out.

Thanks Jenni, I know something was amiss and was more than suspicious that I was missing something. I was under the impression that the chart was taken from a study done FOR this paper. Thank you for the clarification!
