Copied and pasted from a friend on FB:
52 thoroughbred horses need homes. Will go to Sugarcreek this Saturday for slaughter. Gentleman died and his son wants nothing to do with them. Most broodmares are broke and some are in foal, weaning, yearlings, most are gelded. FREE and papered. Friend of the deceased is trying to find homes 440-463-4288 or 440-463-4288 Barnesville, OH.

This reminds me of the movie Secretariat, which I loved btw!
How sad. Hopefully, many will find new homes.

Glad for them... too many formerly valuable race horses meet horrible ends... I still can't believe that Horse of the Year, and Derby winner Ferdinand died in a Japanese slaughterhouse!! www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/17051/death-of-a-derby-winner-slaughterhouse-likely-fate-for-ferdinand
