This fellow wants us to provide him with worker's compensation for the self-described horror he endured murdering 100 (!) dogs in this sickening way.  I am a compassionate guy, slow to anger, but even I want to shake this guy by the neck.  I suspect some of you may feel the same way.

I haven't read the initial you tube video/document. Just don't want to put myself in a bad mood for the rest of the evening, maybe in the morning. I've seen some bad things, (prior military, prior LEO) without knowing all the facts and without being behind the scenes, who knows? AM NO WAY CONDONING THIS INCIDENT OR THE MAN'S ACTIONS, Was this man forced to an extent say, he had to do this or he would've been fired? Not saying he just started work so firing would be no big deal, but many years where retirement was right around the corner and he did what he did?

Yes, I know I should read/watch the initial and maybe have my answer already. Like I said, just don't want to be in a worse mood.

This has actually been posted about a couple of times already.

It appears he and the owner of the parent company his was affiliated with agreed that the dogs had to go. When he couldn't find homes for them and a vet would not humanely put them down, he went to work with a gun and a knife.

In BC many of our vets will not put a dog down that is healthy.  They went to the Vets,SPCA and  also tried to rehome the dogs.  While it is horrific that these dogs died what could he have done? Starved them to death?  The SPCA in BC is a joke run by money grubbing idiots most likely PETA members.  I've seen them "seize" animals from working farms that were in excellent condition.  Terrorists I tell you.  If you had 100 dogs to feed and no money , what would you do?   I'm not saying it is right to have 100 dogs, but he did have them could nt feed them, What were his options?

Since this topic has reached far and wide, I think, so should our empathy. Canada isn't a 3rd world country. There's resources, rescues and shelters that could have been solicited.

Bob Fawcett (former GM of Howling Dog Tours) claimed the dogs, were old, sick and couldn't be rehomed. Yeah sure!....he could have claimed anything to absolve himself of the responsibility he took on. I'd put money on it, if husky rescues/shelters were contact prior to the cull, action would have been taken to save them.  Hell....he could have just walked away from the place, and called the SPCA as he was driving away. Someone would have intervened. BUT...he chose the most inhumane way to eliminate these dogs. I think it's a complete cop-out on Howling Dog Tours. Humans have choices....animals don't.

What were his options?

If his last resort was his gun, he had the option to take the dogs out, one at a time and give them clean quick shots to the head.   Not wade into the kennel and just start pulling the trigger, traumatizing the dogs who had to wait their turn and making sloppy shots that left dogs alive and in agony until he could finish up with a knife.

What I hate most about this, is that it is an evil deed being portrayed as mercy. People can't let themselves be fooled. It is a bloody hot mess.

by brynjulf on 05 February 2011 - 01:02

Rescues WERE contacted There was 6 months for a rescue or persons to help , The dogs were on the internet for the whole world to adopt .  The SPCA WAS contacted.  He was also denied by several Vets.  no it wasnt a nice thing that he did, but the point is being missed or deliberately ignored that he did look for help. Some how that fact is being completely ignored......The SPCA is sure downplaying there role in this mess.
