Orla's Kor is FINALLY HERE! Any taker on translation? - Page 1

Wow, that was strange.  Just published post before I wrote anything.
I just got my Kor on Orla my new bitch from Germany.  The SV mailed all of the paperwork to the WRONG address.  Needless to say, it has been very difficult to get through this mishap.  But, I have the Kor and the picks will be issued in less that 15 days.  Fuew!

Ok, you do not need or use translations of A through Z. You only translate the summary which is used on pedigrees. Regarding the breeding advice, shouldn't it be " Quenn vom Löher Weg"? I personally think it is nonsense to write something like that in a breed survey and would strongly recommend you disregard it. How can a Körmeister possibly tell you which line to use for your dog? I have heard advice like "further inbreeding on xx-line or xx-dog is not recommended" but to dictate a specific line is ridiculous.

I have bred her to my male Uno and a very happy with the results.  She was purchased with the express intention of matching to him.  I am so happy with their offspring that I am keeping one for show and schutzhund.  For now she is just a puppy and all we do is play.

Hey Chris,
the Körmeister did not "dictate" the line to breed to, he "recommended" the line. I guess you are right, it probably should be " Quenn vom Löher Weg". Actually, I see it a little more relaxed, the Körmeister see's quite a few more dogs in detail, so yes, I would pay some attention to what he has to say.

Hi Uli,
even though the word "dictate" might be too strong a word for you, it isn't for me. IMO, a Körmeister has no business making a "recommendation" like that as he is not familiar or could not possibly know of the phenotype a dog represents or what has been produced in this particular family. For the same reason, not all representatives of a specific line produce the same, as a dog has more than one line to offer. Not even two littermates produce the same traits. It would be a lot more believable to me if a Körmeister states what is needed in improvement, i.e. croup, front, body proportions, pigment, etc. And that is usually what most Körmeister recommend. Therefore, I find it very disturbing to see something like that printed in a Körschein! And btw, I have no idea which Körmeister we are even talking about here.
