I just lost my Sadie on Saturday due to kidney failure, she would have been 14 in April. Because of her I am totally in love with the breed and would like to get another one in a couple of months when the weather improves here in New England.
My question is what advantages/disadvantages are there to importing from Germany? Are there stricter standards there for breeding than in the US? What kennels in Germany are your favorites and why?
Thanks

Yes, there are stricter breeding standards in Germany than there are here but many breeders here adhere to those standards voluntarily making the issue moot. You can find plenty of nice German bloodline dogs here...do your homework and don't hesitate to ask for help.

Without starting a war, any suggestions for US breeders, especially east coast? I am looking for companion/protection not show or breeding and want sable female regular coat.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I bought my last, Arabella, from Hayes Haus out of Mass. "Bella Vom Hayes House" pictures of her will be on a couple of my threads.
