We tried this on the litter we have now and it gave them nothing but the runs!!!! We hardly put any in their food and it still gave them the water runs, so we sent it back. Once they were off of it for a couple of day's their stools looked normal again. Not saying that this would happen to every puppy b/c all puppies are different, but this was our experience with our litter of pups.

Remember this: In the US, there is NO control or standard set for supplements, either those used in humans or animals. A proper diet for a human or a dog should be all that is necessary. People make up these products and convince others that the dog needs something it does not. Sometimes these products can also be harmful. There is no quality control and over-supplementation, especially in pups, should be a real concern.
Why do you feel the pups need something like this in the first place?

My pup likes it simple - kibble and chicken broth. I used this before. wasn't happy. does anyone look at calcium/phosporus ratio's?

I used the Puppy Gold on my bitch with her first litter 2 years ago. She had a litter of 11 pups. She did good on it. She hardly blew her coat after weaning the pups.
I tried it again with my last litter, they are 11 weeks old now. It gave my bitch BAD diarrhea. Also the pups when I weaned them didnt like it and got bad diarrhea on it also. So I decided to just stay with the kibble. I do give some raw meat once in a while too.

We used it b/c we felt our female wasn't carrying enough milk for 11 puppies, and it was suppose to increase her milk production. It gave her and the puppies major runs, so we took her off of it. That is the only reason we tried it out on our litter that we have now.

Maybe this supplement was not selling fast enough, went rancid and was giving the diarrhea.

We used the *original product* called K9 Puppy Power...years ago. We had no issues with it at all.
I liked the product, along with the *original* Show Glo * K9 Power.
I noticed a small change in color and consistency in the same *newer named products*...and was not overall impressed with the Puppy Gold.
