Most municipalities place a limit on how many dogs you can have on your property. Usually it is 2 or 3 MAXIMUM!

So, please check that out before you move. There are no restrictions against owning a GSD, though. Pit bulls are the only breed that is discriminated against, and they are BANNED. Not even Cesar was allowed to bring his pit bull here when he visited recently!

You may need to get a kennel license in order to keep that many dogs.

You are not allowed to breed Pitbulls, or purchase a new one. But, you can have one you owned before the ban went through - it must be leashed/muzzled/etc. at all times. I used to live in Toronto, and worked for the Humane Society (under the tyrant Tim Trow) when the ban went through.

There is no ban on GSDs. I don't know about all of Ontario, but in Toronto, if you are a renter, you cannot be denied tenancy if you have within the legal # of pets - 6. Of those, 3 can be dogs. As a private citizen, you cannot walk more than 3 dogs at once in a public place. If you are a dog walker, and have a licence and insurance, you can walk 5.
