I always thought the best hip scores were 0/0 which meant no dysplasia in either hip.  If I am wrong where does that rating come from?

by SitasMom on 13 January 2011 - 04:01

RTG "A" /0/0/  is from Slovakia, and possibly others.

When I started this thread ,I really did know that nobody would speak of this,is it so bad a topic or too embarrasing,I think not, nobody chooses there dog to have high hip scores,so come on tell us which dogs have high hip scores from Czech lines,I am genuinely interested from a breeding point of view, thanks.

You'll find that a large majority of them are rated "0/0" or "A" (FCI standards).  What's higher than that?

by yorkjason on 14 January 2011 - 10:01

Katesgill if you are breeding with Czech lines make sure the dogs are elbow graded BEFORE you breed with them, do not rely on hips alone.  Many bad elbows in England from Czech lines !.

Thanks for the heads up about the elbows,I already done all my homework about that, was just wanting people to be more open on the sort of scale of average scores of the hips, dont think anyone wants to comment though, but was worth a try, thanks again.
