Thanks Hodie you are a great resource and your comments are always nice to have. We are giving him boiled chicken and rice for now, and I have disinfected his kennle run with bleach and water.  I have cleaned up all of the mess in the back yard and even dug up the snow around the mess.

Sounds like you have done everything right gsdshow. Hopefully this will be isolated and not recur. And thank you for your kind comments. I appreciate it very much.

ALWAYS, when you go to the vet, ask for what the diagnosis is, and why the vet is giving you what he is giving you..if the dog is active, and trying to eat, and assuming the MetroDinazole was for Giardia, which is was is mostly prescribed for..and we assume there were no other parasites, I think he probably swallow something and that is why he is throwing up..I have seen this many times before, give him 2-4 days until he passes it through, what ever it is...you may give him a couple of slices of white bread wet with olive oil, the bread works like a sponge and grabs the stuff and help pass it through faster,is especially good for CD's or broken plastic/glass...trust me...good luck

I don't have time to read all the responses, but a friend of mine has been having a similar problem with his Shiloh Shepherd. After some testing to rule out other potential illnesses, the vet has concuded it is probably gastritis and put him on 20mg. Pepcid per day, given 20 minutes before feeding him breakfast. It is still too soon to tell whether ir not the diagnosis is correct, but I'll let you know.
