I have a 16 month old male GSD. I wonder how much growth he has remaining and usually how long till these grow?

IMO your dog will not grow anymore in height.  He may fill out a litte, but that is it. :)

 ditto as RS

RS is correct. Most GSDs have attained maximum height between 11 and 13 months. Males who are not neutered will continue to develop secondary sex characteristics and "fill out". Unspayed females too will "fill out", but the secondary sex characteristics in females are not easily observable in canines as they are in human females (development of breasts, widening hips etc).
