Its a pain in the ass, not worth fooling with. There are so many forms blood test, etc it is a bunch of work and money . I have sent a couple of dogs there in past 2 years and never again. It takes too much of your time running here and there for tests and papers signed and the shipping to Australia is crazyyyyyyyyy
Nicest people i have ever met are the Aussies but the county is crazy with its quarantine and all the paper work and test. They can buy a 5 grand dog and time they get it there have 20 grand in it. I feel for them

Waleed, I am in OZ but will never able to afford an imported dog but if you want info on this subject why don't you post on the German Shepherd World forum, many folk there have and I am sure they would be able to help you.
I believe that here it would cost easily 3 or 4 times the price of the dog for tests, transport and quarantine.
Not many discuss the final costs.

We are doing the veterinary work for a couple of dogs who are slated to go to australia. The testing is very extensive, the requirements very stringent. Yes, it is a "pita" It is doable but very tedious. It also takes months to cpmplete the requirements and paperwork. so far we have been working on one since I think september.

Give yourself 6 months, for paperwork, testing, shots, titres, etc. If you don't, the dog will have to spend a LONG time in quarantine at a huge cost.

Hello this might of some use that i have found for the importation of dogs into Australia, it comes at a very high cost no doubt so the people that import dogs into Australia should be applouded graciouscly for spending huge amounts of money and time to bring in dogs into the country.
