I have been dealing with a gentleman in Hungary by the name of Kristian Gardner who posted an advertisement on the database offering a female German Shepherd for sale. Many exchanges between myself and Mr. Gardner have transpired over the period of the last several days. After coming to a tenative agreement to buy her he has refused to share any documentation as to her pedigree or title.
He has said that he has sold many dogs in the past without a problem and that I should blindly trust him. Knowing how others have been "burned" when it comes to buying a dog sight unseen, especially when there is a language barrier. I have offered him to call a friend of mine in Germany so that my friend can verify the female is who she says she is and that all documentation concering the sale are in order. He refused to do so.
I think this is a perfect example why people here in the USA are afraid to do business overseas.

What help do you want? DO NOT DO THIS. Use your common sense. There are many warning signs, including that he refuses to provide you documentation. Even if he did, what happens when he takes your money and does not send a dog, or sends a dog without proper papers, or sends a different dog. You have absolutely no recourse. So unless you are prepared to just waste the money, don't do it. Surely, there are many dogs here in the U.S. or in Germany where you have a friend and where your chances of getting the dog you want are much, much better. Language barriers are also extremely difficult and in my opinion, are often the cause of misunderstandings we read about here. Unfortunately however, there are dishonest people all over the world, including in the U.S.

Your gut is telling you to walk away. Do it. And fast.

Agreed, do not let them make you think you insult them by questioning the deal. I did this on my third gsd purchased did background as much as I could back then and was naive still did it I was distracted after really wanting the pup and having had to recently before the purchase put one down. I paid for the pup and the shipping and later found out the person was using the info of a gsd breeder and their kennel name but the contact info I had was not the same person my money never found or returned and never received a dog. Don't do it, many others for sale that will not be insulted to be verified. I am ashamed that I got taken but i would rather admit it publically than let the bottom feeders claim another and they rely on people keeping quiet.

This is called a fool and their money, just you asking the question means you are out of your league, stay in the states and see the sire and damn, ask questions here about bloodlines , breeder, and the type of dog you want. best of luck

I appreciate the comments you folks have posted and would like to report Kristian Gardner has removed the ad once I told him it was my intention to go public. I don't know this man personally but his actions speak louder than his words. I have had very positive experiences prior to this with the dogs I purchased overseas, however. If it wasn't for the fact the euro is so strong against out dollar it would be a different playing field for we here in the USA. I try to follow the German model in my small breeding program. I am honest and expect the same from the people I deal with.
If any of you folks know of a reasonably price good quality female I would be interested in hearing from you. I breed show lines and  have bred shepherds dating back to the early 1960's. I remember buying my first shepherd pup who had a 4 generation pedigree going back to the famous (excuse my spelling error) Pefffer von Bern. I have a very beautiful large black and red male whose grand father is Yasko Farbenspiel. My 3 females come from Parkus d' Ulmental, Karat's Ulk and a female I 'm retiring out of Timo Fixfrutta.
I'm 71 years old and my dogs are my treasures and best friends.
