Can someone explain to me what a good penn-hip rating for a German Shepherd would be?
I know how OFA grades but I rarely hear of the penn-hip? I see it listed in percentiles but what is good besides 100 percent?
I appreciate and thanks in advance for your answers.
Thanks,
Gabby

.40 is considered the average for German Shepherds.
.30 is considered in the top 90th percentile.
* The higher the number, the more lax (loose) the hips are.
- eg: If the right hip is scored .35 and the left hip is scored .50 then the higher number will automatically be used, the dog would be scored .50, they do not take an average of both hips.
