What kind of watering bowl do you have in your kennel?  Apparently my setup stinks.  Little bit makes getting her bowl out of her metal ring a mission.  I have drilled holes in the side and zip-tied it in, it is also bolted and elevated off the floor.  I just peeked out the window and she was hard at work.  I have a feeling that I may end up with a broken canine if I do not get something different.

I have a Mali with TOTAL bowl obsession.  Oddly enough, she does not go after a metal pail clipped inside her crate.  There's also water bottles but they may bite the metal spigot.  A small plastic flat-sided pail may also work.

we have a 5 quart water bowl on the kitchen floor and at one point every puppy had to try to swim in it...after a while the obsession goes away. They seem to think its great fun to make a huge mess. when i catch them, i redirect the attention to a ball or tug.

My Gina empties her water bowl several times a day she pats it out with her feet the run looks like a Mini River most days, I put a huge Round Stone in it but somehow she got it out, I gave up on it and just change the Frozen Water of the other two Dogs several times most days and refill hers but only part way now, Izzy was the same as a Pup but got out of it so i guess Gina will to in time

GOOD luck ?

I own or should half of Stainless Steel bucket companies..Nothing or any thing but digging a hole and concreteing the bowl in the ground then you cannot clean it out very well...I guess by  hand...

My Water bowls are off the ground in a frame the back fits underneath and the front goes in a lip and you turn the bowl to lock it, But Gina can still get it of and she carrires it around the pen once she has kicked the water out of it,
If she is on a casual walk and sees a beer can she picks it up and brings it home, She loves to carry anything she can get hold of, I never stop her doing this it is a part of a dogs makeup and i love to see it

Steve1- I like your kennel setup.  I like the bars.  My kennel has priefert front panel that has squares.  I would rather just have vertical bars.  I have a holder similar to one that you have.  I have drilled holes in the sides to zip tie the bowl down...but she just nips the zips.  It is not as much a problem now but will be in the summer.

YR-Now that you say that waayyy back in her ped she does.  I think this will take you to Hedi's pedigree you will have to expand it out to the 6 gen view.  She does have a strong desire to put everything in her mouth though.  When she is in the house she generally grabs the first thing she can find and carries it around.  While the Christmas tree was up she would swipe ornaments (of course they plastic shatterproof).  Now since the snow is gone she is back to swiping the firewood that is stacked outside.

I like the big bucket and flat backed bucket ideas so far.  GSD in the water bucket...classic.  I guess she cannot break a tooth on that, right?
