"The Humane Agents broke into the kennel illegally and let the news crew in also. Since they broke in illegally, they put words into Steve Croley's Mouth saying" Times were tough, I didn't have the money to feed the Dogs". He never said that, as a matter of fact He had alot of Bil-jac in His fridge. He's an animal lover. He would feed His dogs before Himself. No one is realizing that Dogs can die from things other than starvation. I guess that was overlooked when Liz posted this. What She also forgot to post was that Her Dog Nitro was At High Caliber K9 to be evaluated whether He needed to be euthanized or could be placed with someone Who could control Him, because Tom and Liz couldn't. He had to wear a muzzle to be walked down the street. He also was banned from their neighborhood. He bit their Daughter, also Tom several times and bit Liz when She said goodbye to Him at the Kennel."
So, uh... what was the reasoning for starving all 19 dogs that were there while they had bil-jac in their fridge? 8 dead dogs. A little pit puppy with ribs visible?
He looked nice and FAT at every hearing too, but he would feed the dogs before himself?
There IS NO EXCUSE. This is ENRAGING.
Have you seen the pics of all the dogs he killed, INCLUDING NITRO. HE HIMSELF TRAINED NITRO. And yet Nitro was vicious and they feared him?
19 dogs, emaciated, 8 died. But, no. It wasn't starvation.
Oddly enough, 2 years later and all your accusations of Nitro being so vicious ... nothing has ever been brought up about him biting ANYONE.
You should let him lock you up in a kennel and let him take care of you.
SUPPORT NITRO'S LAW IN OHIO. MAKE SOMETHING GOOD COME FROM THIS. MAKE THIS BEHAVIOR A FELONY.

The people who can make appropriate laws in Ohio are in Ohio. This kind of story plays out in every state in the country, including mine. All animal lovers must join in pressing law makers to change the laws so that the judges and prosecutors can do more to punish people who do things like this scumbag. The slap on the wrist crap has to stop. People abusing people and people neglecting, starving, abandoning and abusing animals need to go to prison and NEVER be allowed to own an animal again. But we are the ones who must speak up.........or it won't ever change.

Exactly. I have made it a priority to get HB 70 passed in Ohio this year. I sat by idly last year because I really thought it would go through. I thought wrong.
This year I will do everything I can to make sure everyone in Toledo knows about this bill. I will be at gyms, vet clinics, grocery stores. I will make fliers. I am making a list of who is for, who is against, and who can be swayed in the legislature, I will vote accordingly. I will contact them non-stop.
This bill will not be swept under the carpet this year.

stomkat,
I hope you do follow through and successfully rally enough people and votes to change things there so that something like this is less likely, or if it happens, the perp appropriately punished. This was truly pathetic and heinous and the perpetrator should have gone to prison for a long time and forbidden to ever operate a kennel or own an animal again. He and Michael Vick could have been cellmates......
