This is a 20 car pileup......with people trying to go up and down a slight hill in a fast developing snowstorm tonight. People just don't use common sense..... over and over and over and you see the results. Warning, the man taking the video is liberal with his descriptive expletives......As he says, "This is fu$$%@#$$ madness".

Here's the link....

YouTube - 20 Car Pile up on South Carefree and Powers Colorado Springs

It amazes why people would get out on the roads knowing what the conditions are going to be like....Its not like warnings hadn't been put out on the news making everyone aware of the conditions.....Its really sad what happened here, but I think alittle common sense may have prevented alot of this....Unless its a life or death situation, I can't think of any other reason, that is so necessary to put oneself in this type of situation...JMO...

There must be black ice under that snow....what a freakin' mess! jackie harris

There is black ice under the snow. The storm hit just about rush hour, as they often do. People are at work, trying to get home etc. With 3 inches snow or so on the road, not realizing ice is present, you see the result. The entire area is like this tonight with ice on all surfaces and 6 or more inches of snow, blowing wind etc. No one is on the roads at this point.

. . and as the episode of every life plays out, some people want to be amongst the statistics of "dead", some "the wounded", so just want to be "victims of circumstance". Happily, some want to be counted amongst the "fortunate living". It so crazy n sickning, how people behave with their precious lives.

This is what almost always happens in the Atlanta area when we get snow. It usually starts out as freezing rain first before turning to snow. I have a MINI Cooper which is great to drive in snow, but nothing can handle ice so I don't risk it. The road I live on was closed last year for 3 days due to black ice. We finally had to get out and get dog food and we took the MINI not the truck. NOT FUN but we got it done. We had snow here on Christmas day and it was actually fun because there was almost no ice this time.

Hodie, thanks for sharing. I showed it to my 16 yr old son as a warning; of course, he was most impressed with the narrator's vocabulary level! We had black ice and then snow last week. Today, 60 degrees and tornado warnings. Gotta love Missouri weather!

I wish I was there with a box of business cards. LOL

Once you lock the brakes up on black ice it's all over, absolutely no control. You're just there for the ride.

I almost had as much fun delivering the mail in the new snow last Friday when my 4WD went out-left the boxes up but lost my antenna and broke a tailight.
