Conformation critique please - Page 1

6 Month old male puppy. I can't believe we got such a good picture of the little blur of motion!

 Hi Melba,

As you already know I am a learner of conformation so don't take my critique for granted in details, what I guarantee you is this: He is a beautiful looking and a special boy, 

Here I try:

A beautiful male puppy medium dark sable that appears to have good pigmentation, expression and substance and will be more than medium size hopefully.
Very good proportions, loin slightly long and could use less ratio of chest depth to height but that can be gained as he matures.
Nice head that appears of good proportions and strength, nice ear size and carriage though I can not tell the placement from a side view. Eyes are not well visible too to comment on, stop is fine but can gain more as he matures, upper lips may be a bit loose but can not tell for sure.
Nice strong neck of correct angle to body, good withers that appear a bit flat but length is good, excellent top line that flows beautifully from neck to a croup that shows a very good lay and good length, tailset is more than good and a nice tail of beautiful length.
Front is of good proportions, good lay back which hopefully will even become better, upper arm lay and length look good to me but honestly I am not so sure and shall be waiting to see how the truly informed find them. Nice straight forearms and strong pasterns of correct angle.
Back is of good proportions (again here I am not very sure), angulation is very good and very good hooks.
To make sure of pasterns and hooks you can watch him coming and going then you can tell for sure. I am sorry that I can not verify the feet as they are partially covered with the grass.

It doesnt look like he will be a very lage dog but he looks really good great face.

At 6 months old he weighs around 40lbs lean. I honestly don't want a moose of a dog. He should mature at about 75lbs.

 ALLE I would hope you could tell that's a puppy.  And a fat dog is not a good working dog.  I can't critique your your pup on conformation melba, but he looks awesome.

melba, just from this one pic, he looks like a very, very nice dog conformation wise. Croup is particularly nice. Back, layback of shoulder, rear angles, just beautiful.

I'm pretty sure you already know this. No one gets a dog (or a stack) this nice by accident.

He he he Rik, the stack was a one in a million. Luck was on our side as I'm horrible at stacking. Getting better with practice though.

Thank you so much for the nice comments. I'm amazed every day at what a beautiful, intelligent and DRIVEN dog he is becoming. A sample of his working ability thus far : at 6 months will do extended area searches ( 10+ minutes) and has NEVER failed to bring his ball back, learned Zit without formally introducing it to him and Afliggen in less then a minute. He has been on a sleeve for a month, always bites full and hard and truly enjoys the fight.
