I use Frontline Plus -- no problems, so far.

Frontline is a joke. It never worked on any of my dogs.

I use vet prescribed Revolution (selamectin) applied topically monthly for heartworm and flea preventative. No problems and no fleas on our two dogs in southwest Florida where we never have snow/frozen ground. Revolution is a parasiticide, not a pesticide. Frontline contains EPA registered pesticide Fipronil.

EAP44 , make sure you are using the right stuff;is been around many times that Fronline has been falsified and sold....try garlic in their food, vinegar on their coat, creoline ( coal tar ) Good luck

Personally, I never use the stuff unless I have to. I have a dose of the good stuff that I've had for two years and never used. I never have fleas at my place even with 6-10 dogs (you can believe it or not, don't care). Just lucky I guess. I do treat the perimeter of my property with insecticides for fleas and ticks when spring arrives and the critters start coming out of the dirt.

I have used vinegar in their drinking water before and it works. You have to be careful with the amount as it can cause acidosis

Lucky enough for us we only put the frontline plus on the cats this past year for ticks. There was not a flea in sight <jumping for joy>. When we lived in FL we rotated Frontline plus and Advantix every 3 weeks because the fleas were becoming resistant. There were flyers put out by the vets office saying the fleas were resistant.

When that didn't work we used the Comfortis during the height of flea season.

Also, DE religiously.

Thank you everyone. I am in SE AZ and never had a problem with a flea until this year. We had a cold snap but then it got unusually warm for this time of year. Bees are insane as well. Crazy crazy.

Those who are having trouble with Frontline being effective have mutated fleas in their area, who have become immune. Here in NC we stopped carrying Frontline at our vet office. This year we have carried Vectra 3D and had good results. We also carry Comfortis which is very effective also.
The fleas here were so bad this year, especially for those homes who had not used prevention regularly. Once they were infested treating the dogs just didn't do the trick. Control for them required treating the house as well as their yards.
