im just lookin for new ideas and to expand training options.
before you ask im not a dog trainer, im a carpenter here in chicago

Verbal praise and tug. I don't "hide" the tug though, the dogs know where they come from anyway.... I carry it in plain sight, they learn quickly to ignore it until offered. Which also keeps many bad habits from forming regarding them bouncing around looking for where you "hid" it.

He loves the ball on a rope, too, but I like to train in the house, so I can't really do that very often, lol. Nice mix of tug and ball.
Also, I like to have a mat on the ground my dog can go to on command. Helps in a lot of different ways, I just can't think of many right now. But for the distance sit/down/stand, I know it helps.
And just a regular tennis ball. My dog loves to catch them in the air, and fetch them, so I can use it inside and out. Very nice for a 'quick' praise. Throw the ball in his mouth, then get it back, or for a really good job, I can throw it.
And lots of verbal praise, of course!
