for me its dobermans. when i was a little kid we had dobermans as watch dogs for the family factory on the westside of chicago. back in the day the racine and lake street area was as bad as any in the city. the shiny short coat and rippled muscles were usually enough to keep the street people away from the doors. i have lurked this site for a long time and finally decided to register. lots of great information to be found and passed around here!

My favorite breed is the American Pit Bull Terrier. I love the strength and agility of the breed. The best dog I have owned was a rednose pit named Tasha. She was a great dog no problems seems like I didnt have to train her. I like this breed because they really want to please owner. My daughter talked me into a German Shepherd last year. That was best for my need. I wanted more of a guard dog and in my opionion pit bulls are not the best guard dog.

German Shepherds for me all the way. I LOVE the look of them, the way they bond to their master/family, the fact that they (when well bred) love children, and seem to know a real threat.
My next breed would be a Bernese Mountain Dog. I think they are gorgeous too, but as long as I have enough energy to give a GSD the proper attention, GSD's are what it will be.

Dobermann has two n's.
I just like dogs. A nicely bred dobe is like any other breed. They have their ups and downs. Can't take the cold as well as others, but in the house, you can't beat their coat.

GEMINI I THINK YOU MADE A GOOD CHOICE.I HAVE HAD ONE BY MY SIDE FOR 15 YEARS. MY GRANDKIDS LOVE THEM AND VISA VERSA. ALL DOGS ARE GOOD DOGS TO SOMEBODY AND IN NO WAY WOULD I PUT ANOTHER BREED DOWN.THEY ARE SO LOYAL MY DOG KNOWS, IT SEEMS' EVERTHING I SAY.THEY ARE SO SMART IT AMAZES ME SOMETIMES.

Considering this is the GSD database, not surprising to find predominently GSD lovers. GSDs are superior to any other bred of dog. You've read the bumper stickers....if it's not a GSD, it's just a dog!
