I use a  regular fur saver, no tags, 6" slim leash.
The SV only accepts regular fur saver or fur saver show collar in the show ring.

Herm Sprenger does show collars, but I have never used them.

Thank you for your response. I have a 4 months old puppy whom I am planning to show next month in a regional show. I am thinking of buying show collar and leash at a time so I dont have to buy again and again as he grows. For home and regular use I am using regular petsmart nylon leashes and choke chains. I am looking at these products below. Are they ok ? please advice.

For Leash, flat or rounded ? or if flat what width is accepted ?

Also, what's the use of a prong collar and aggitation collar ? Do I need a show collar with metal nubs or with out nubs ? What's the use of nubs first of all ?

Do they accept brass or just stainless steel show collars ?

This is the first time I am planning to show my dog and I dont want to make mistakes in buying collars or leashes as they are very expensive and again have to pay shipping etc

Thank you

Ok, to show a 4 month old puppy it would be premature to get a show collar... it won't fit properly, I would guess.
It doesn't matter if it is brass or steel it just has to be a fur saver, at least to my knowledge. I would ask at your regional club. I haven't shown puppies, so I'm not sure if there are other collars accepted for puppies.
Nylon or leather collars may break your dogs top coat layer, so you want to avoid that before shows.
I would get the slimmest flat long leash you can get. It has to be long enough that your puppy can run in front of you without you bumping into his/her hint legs and the hook has to be big enough to attach onto the collar.
I think 6 ft is good.

Prong collars are best used for temporary corrections in adult dogs, if needed, and are not useful on the long term or as permanent collar. Don't use them on puppies.

Keep in mind that your dog is still growing and that you might have to get different sized collars yet.
Maybe your regional club has tips where to buy collars without paying shipment fees.
Good luck with the show!

During the brief period I showed an American Show Line Dog I used a fine jewlers link chain and a very thin 6 ft leather lead.   I do belive in SV you need to use a fur saver.
