This question was posed on a sports radio programme for which I only heard a few replies:

Henry Cooper (British Champ) left hook that floored Cassius Clay in 66 - probably more from patriotism than quality mind as Our 'enry lost the fight.
Mike Tyson short right that knocked out Botha in 99
Tommy Hearns right that totally knocked out Duran in 84

And a couple from me:

Joe Frazier left hook against Ali at Madison Square Gardens in 71
Ricky Hatton left hook body shot that poleaxed Castillo in 2007.

Any more that have been missed?

Hagler-Hearns had two of the best punches I've ever seen: Hearns' tremendous 1st-round right hook above Hagler's left ear that left Hearns with a broken hand and didn't even faze Hagler, and Hagler's running overhand right to Hearns' jaw at 1:28 of the 3rd round that turned Hearns into rubber before Hagler administered the final KO punch.

The fight didn't go long enough to achieve "best ever" status, but it was the most intense three rounds I've seen and Hearns is lucky he didn't get killed.

Hagler's trainers the Petronelli brothers used to summer in a cottage on my street, and I ran into Hagler a few times when he'd come down to relax on the beach.  Despite being an animal in the ring, he was actually a pretty soft-spoken guy.  Goody Petronelli is now 87 and still training boxers.

Youtube of the 3rd round is here:

DD, The Hagler Hearns fight was always my favorite. Hearns opened up such a bad cut on Hagler, that he had to go for broke. Did he ever. Great fight.

I also thought Hagler beat Sugar Ray Leonard in Vegas, but got a raw deal from the judges.

Hagler was my favorite fighter.

It would be my punch to the face of one of the many jerks that have mistreated the noble breed of GSD.  Pick one, let me at 'em, then judge for yourself.  Sorry.  Venting over dogs in shelters and other mistreatment I've read about.

I'd have to say the punch Snookie took on Jersey Shore.
