It started back in Sept; of 2005 it looked like his hips, but they're fine, then now its moved to his right front leg, he limps and when it was in his left hind leg he wlked like his leg was being grinded and still everyone sees that there's pain, but NO ONE know's where its coming from. He also has seizures but has not had one for 96 days now.............. Can ANYONE help me with whats wrong with my baby he's 4 1/2 yrs old.. his name is Kaddy he's on PB and KBr for his siezures and was on Metacam for pain until last month when the Dr; at Fountain Valley put him on Adequin for pain , but is now off that due to a growth that was found today under his tongue I amm at my wits end trying to find out whats wrong with him can anyone help me???? For me it sounds like panostitis. Everytime when pain change hind and front or left and right legs pano is first suspiction for that kind of condition. But it is very easy to uncover. I know it is stupid question but did you make x-rays for pano?

I would recommend something stronger than Adequan for pain! All that is is basically a glucosamine shot, he needs to be on at least some anti inflamitories (like Metacam) which can be used in conjunction with adequan injections. If they think Metacam caused a growth, there is still Rimadyl, Deramaxx, etc. that are different drugs with the same purpose. Biopsy the growth, might be totally unrelated to the Metacam. If he has not had siezures for 96 days I would talk to your vet about weaning him off the potassium bromide, that is pretty heavy duty stuff and if the phenobarbital keeps the siezures at bay alone, I would try that. I hope this is helpful, good luck with your dog!

Hi Shari, have you tested for Lyme disease? Shifting leg lameness is a common symptom.

It sounds like your not finding any answers with the route taken therefore I would find a chiropractor that treats dogs. It sounds like you are in N. Calf. you should find some good D.C.'s in that area. "When all else fails adjust". I hope the best for you both! Kevin
