The start of this video features one of my first cousins, beef farmer Gord Armstrong. Beeton is just 16 km. to the west of my place.

I'm still working on the runs (okay, I have been procrastinating!) aaand, they just forecasted that we may get another big dump on the weekend!
Shelly, are you laughing as you read this?

I think I'll just move to the Bahamas each winter to avoid this weather.

here in Houston the weather is a crisp 55f and we're lovin' it......last summer's weeks 100f+ is just a horrible memory.
i remember living in Ann Arbor and seeing the temp on a sign flashing -17f and couldn't hardly believe it, after a point it just doesn't matter - cold is cold. one winter is snowed for a whole week non-stop. by the end of the weather event there was at least 4.5 feet everywhere and more in the drifts.....kids love the snow days, parents got mighty tired of shoveling, lots of livestock died.
winter up north isn't for the weak or faint of heart.....hope the snow stops for a while so everyone can catch up and some normality can resume.....

80 cm? Yikes! I'm not laughing, just glad I'm not there. I'm still not entirely thawed out from that awful trip last January yet. Its going to be 67F and sunny here this weekend here. So far, I don't miss the Northeast. :-) Just the 8 days I was back there before Thanksgiving gave me the heebie geebies, and it hadn't even snowed yet.
Stay warm.
Stay warm.

Holy Cow
, That's a lot of snow!!! I don't know how you guys (northerners) do it.
Sounds like you could use a Bobcat with a 3-4' bucket to help you keep your kennel runs cleared.
Maybe you should consider becoming what we in the southwest call a snow bird. Here in the winter there in the summer.
Here in Albuquerque, New Mexico we complain if we get six inches of snow and the temperature drops below 30 degrees in the winter. Over 100 degrees with 20 percent humidity is a super hot day in the summer.
I remember one year we got a surprise storm that dumped 18 inches over night and it shut the city down for days due to the lack of snow plows. City hired anyone who had a tractor, loader or bobcat to help clear away the snow.
I hope all of you folks to the north stay safe and warm this winter.

Stay warm.
I just got back from OB class, and the dashboard thermometer was registering -18 C! That's about 0 F.

Obedience in -18? You are truly nuts!

Shelly, it was INDOORS! (And remember that's -18 C which is 0 F, so not as cold as it sounds.) Yes, the SUV WAS a bit chilly when we left to come home, but it warmed up pretty quickly now that the #$%^&!! heater is fixed!
Prepping for the CGN, It's the first time I've done an out of sight down-stay with Star, and oh boy, have we got some homework to do on it!
She did really well with just about everything else, though, including the gun sureness test. Her recall was rock solid, even when the instructor was holding an adorably cute puppy as a distraction!

Indoor training is the bomb in the winter, if it has some heat. O F is cold, plain and simple. I've never had a car heater that could keep up with that kind of cold.
