Well, Steph: I am in Kansas so will be no help.  Have a friend in SD,  will give her a call tomorrow and see what can be done...She has a couple of our Shepherds, so she may be able to help, if not her she may know someone...Lida

YIPPEE for seniors Bonnie & Clyde. I am so happy I could...
Uh oh. I think I just did.

Steph- You're about to get a call from a friend of ours interesting in trying to help.

I'm an hour west of Rapid, is there anything I can do to help?  Perhaps if the Rapid City to Sioux Falls falls through, I might be able to find someone going that way.

So happy for you and for them!  Great news, new forever home.  Too bad I'm so far south so I am of no help.  Great job Steph!

Steph- you should print off a map of the US and stick a pin dot on location for each each person in your network, with a printed list of name and adresses, so you can see with your eyes who you have where, might be easier to do this kind of thing. I'm north of Chicago, count me in.

Chicago is about mid-point between Sioux Falls and Toronto. Perfect place to overnight before hitting the home stretch.

 Okay,
I have enlisted the help of PilotsnPaws, there is a pilot willing to help out from Sioux Falls, SD...the dogs cannot withstand a long driving trip, they didn't do very well when I just transported them 130 miles to Butte, MT, tomorrow they are on their way to Rapid City, SD, should arrive at 6pm.

Here is his info, since I have never done a flight transport....HELP SOMEONE????
The Pilot can get them to Cedar Rapids, is there anyone on here that can foster until the next pilot can get them???
I am contacting the people below he listed for any additional help...
Thanks, Steph

The is Denis with N789SD

We are in Sioux Falls and can take both shepherds. We prefer crates just because we had a really bad experience that nearly destroyed the inside of the plane. Also We are familiar with crossing into Canada. Buffalo NY is a good spot but so are Kitchener, Hamilton and London Ontario and the custom/immigration may be easier too. London Ontario I've been too and Custom there is easy and the facilities are world class. Weather will definitely be a factor since "prairie weather" and "great lakes weather" can be a lot different. We can move both dogs to Cedar Rapids almost any weekend. What will mitigate the variance in weather and pilot's schedules somewhat is the ability to have the Shepherds overnight at a shelter to let the weather further along the trip clear up for the next pilot to take them eastward. Its hard to organize everything to happen in one day and it will take three to four pilots to do this.

Emily is in Madison Wisconsin pawsrescue911@yahoo.com
Rosie is in Sioux Falls SD rosey@secondchancesiouxfalls.com

Both have connections with rescues eastward to help out if you like
Because of weather we like airports with two runways

Good maps showing where the cities and airports are can be found at www.airnov.com look for airports printed in blue and those will be the larger ones

Let me know and we can start planing the trip
