The HOT National hosted by the Cumberland Valley Club was a disgusting flop. The current president of the USA has taken being a rude host to a new low. Everyone understands its important to clean up after their dog but a 15 minute diatribe by the USA president with his condescending attitude is something we could do without. To get respect you have to give respect. He could have spent a little more time and arranged for a lunch truck at the stadium, had a catalog ready for the draw, and reminded his own wife not to park her van with dogs in it 15 feet from the location for blind #1 all weekend. I was shocked at the profanity used toward one competitors spouse because they were standing with them at the entrance to the field. If the host clubs for past years can do such a wonderful job there is no excuse for the lack of planning and rude behavior on the part of this years host. Its one thing to be a little slow with scores on a web site, but there was nothing posted all week-end at the location itself.
Was there anyone else in attendance this past week-end who might have something to comment on?

I didn't go this year. Where did Cumberland Valley hold this event?

Just outside of Nashville Tenn. They used a school stadium. I'm sorry I took the time to go. I can't comment first hand on the tracking, it was competitors only. (Which is strange, I thought this was a spectator event)

tcmits, I would have an easier time responding to you and accepting the integrity of your response if you at least had an amail address. Sorry....

I was curious, as Cumberland Valley used the Glencliff high school stadium (east Nashville) to host the 2004 USA Sieger competition. I attended that and thought it was done fairly well. Of course that is a larger event, so that may have been the reason.
The reason I ask is that I will soon return to Tennessee and live north of Nashville. I wonder if my time will be best spent with Cumberland Valley or another working dog group.

based on how they treated folks at an event being hosted by this club, I would not recomend them to anyone. But you're an adult, check them out for yourself.

tcmits, what are you? Are you an adult or a moran? How can you give a recommendation if you don't give any credibility to who you are? You can contact me privately.

Yes, a "flop" is the right term for it.

The type of attitude that you mention is inexcusable. USA is going to continue to lose support to WDA if this is how these events are going to be run. It certainly doesn't speak well for the organization. Remember that Lyle is an elected official. Remember this at election time.
