Any food that does not have alot of grains in it is best for dogs. Some dogs have an allergy to corn, some do fine on it.
Many feed Royal Canine with good results. If your puppy's coat is shiny and healthy, and he has lots of energy with no scratching, than he is doing fine.
Best of luck with your puppy.

Ground Beef vs Fillet.
not really cost affective to feed high dollar foods for the average pet. It will not add any more years to your pet nor increase the quality of living of your dog.
Now if you are referring to increasing performance of an athlete (gundog, sar, hunting, sport, police, etc), that's a different story.
I have a young GSD that's in the early stages of SAR work. I feed Chicken Soup for the Dog lover's soul. Lame Brand name, but a pretty good food. check out the ingrediants.

All dogs are not allergic to corn grains.
I did not say it did not make any difference. What I was trying to communicate to you is the food you feed your dog is dependant on the activity level of your dog and genetics (allergies). If your dog is the average back yard pet you do not need high performance/high quality kibble unless your dog has food allergies or other health reasons.
It is true some dogs have food allergies to kibble containing corn, wheat, and other grains. Most do not.
