I feed my dog Orijen.   I add a little canned meat (Wellness 95% meat - Chicken/Lamb/Beef, etc.) and ground beef  (canned meat and ground beef are rotated for variety).

I don't use any Vitamin Supplements.   I do add Pure Salmon Oil to his food each evening.   I read somewhere?? that if any Fish Oil is used, then it is necessary to add Vitamin E.   Is that correct?   If so, how much Vitamin E?

Yep, 400 is correct, and the easiest dosage to find. And yes, it's a  'must-have' if using fish oil.

...but if you feed Orijen, you already feed vitamin D and vitamin E, so you don't need to add anything....
here the analysis of Orijen Adult:

By the time the food is processed etc most of those vitamins are long gone.

That is not true - vitamins, when stored dry and not overheated last for 2 years. This is how long vitamin supplements last as well.
You can ask your dog food supplier for process dates, if not printed on the bag.

Yes, even though Orijen is a premium dog food, I thought that the potency of the vitamins/minerals would be diminished in the processing.

Yet, I don't want to start supplementing with a lot of Vitamins.   I don't want to "fix what ain't broken" -- in other words, my dog has no problems w/his diet and has never been sick (knock on wood).

I would just leave it as it is then...kibble is made so you don't have to supplement ...and Orijen is very good food...maybe a little high on protein if your dog is medium active...but if you are doing well with it, why change it!
