I was wondering if someone (since I do not know who the moderators are) could tell me what is cause for being banned from the forum?
I am not trying to cause trouble it's just that during some of my research someone commented that Preston has been banned from the forum and I thought WOW what happened? In the posts that I have read he (assuming he's a he) has always been polite and VERY informative.
Moderators, I respectfully ask what are the rules? Other than the obvious use of foul language or outright nastiness.
Please PM me with your responses.

Getting a straight answer around here or any kind of answer at all from the mods without being whapped.
No rules I can see. No rhyme or reason either. Threads with clear and obvious TOS violations are allowed to stay. Other very similar threads without any TOS violation are deleted and some of the posters banned for who knows why and for how long.
Maybe if the mods would post a thread stating what the rules are and the enforcement going to be taken, the complaining about the mods would stop. Clear and consistant, impartial moderation should be the norm. Not the helter skelter moderation going on now.
However, without some kind of ability to do something about the crap that goes on here, there need not be moderators at all. And moderators whose names are known will only cause new alliances and favoritism to run rampant. We have seen that happen before. I will state again that some of the crap that goes on here would never ever be allowed on any of the other boards and the trouble makers know that and don't go to any other place. Here is where they can screw around and run riot. They know that too.
When I have blocked someone, it has been for a few hours or days, at most, and only for what was a just reason. Often a second moderator has spoken up and agreed with those actions, as I have at times agreed and stated on behalf or another mods actions. There have been many times that threads and/or posts have been made that did not belong here at all and moderators have deleted them and/or blocked people abusing the forum. Most of you don't see that at all.
Continued next post again.....

I got blocked for apparently being told not to post. The mod forgot to read the thread carefully because the warning was on my post directed at another member. I asked for clarification and was told that my post was ok. The result blocked, go figure?

Moderator comment: I am not the moderator who has banned people and I have deleted very few threads. Moderators cannot pm anyone. Our hands are tied until Oli finishes his work. We cannot even talk to each other. Makes it hard to be consistent. I have also questioned some of the bans. No criteria it is up to each individual moderator.
Mollyandjack edit: I would also like to once again ask that moderators have their own usernames so that they don't have to reply in my box...it's weird.
Mollyandjack, editing fiend: Other moderators, you too are welcome to comment in this box :-)

Seems to me, if mods can't PM us and we can't PM mods then the only way to find out things is to post on the board. PM's are out only because the mods want to stay anonymous. But if we question anything openly on the board, we are told the mods make the decisions and we have no right to question them.
So, what are we to do? Do you know how may people are afraid to even post here anymore? Is that what Oli wants for the forum?
Some answers and a little help and not just a kick in the head would be nice. And mod comments about "the rules have already been posted" do no good to the people who don't post often or to the newbies. "Already been posted" is long buried.
