It's a long shot but can anyone help this girl? - Page 1

You dont say where she is, but I looked up the area code of the phone number given, and it's for the Tulsa area of Oklahoma.

Poor girl! I hope someone can help... I'm tempted, but with the major renovations going on in my home right now, I really can't afford to take this on.

Maybe the OP can set up a page for donations?  I could manage a small amout, say $50.

Ok, this is CINDY!  Vickie wants to help this dog and asked me to sign in and post since she can not.  Mod, Vickie would like to know how long this ban you have made on her is going to last.  Can you at least tell her that?  It is a legitimate question........ and she is not trying to bait you!

I called the owner and she is a very sweet person. She TRUELY loves the dog but lost her job and just can not afford what Heidi needs. The dog has a good temperament and she says is VERY VERY affecionate....they still make sure to love on this dog everyday...they just put on a rubber dish gloves so that her and the kids can pet her! She loves the dog enough to give it up to someone who can help! They took in a stray apparently that had mange. Her boyfriend is paying for the Great Dane to be treated for Heartowrms and mange and that is all they can afford! The Shepherd is rapidly loosing weight and the vet told them she probably has heartworms too. I will also get more information on Tuesday as she was crying off and on and some of what she said I could not understand.

I am going to go get this girl on Tuesday around mid day as she wants her kids to be at school when I take Heidi. I have an isolation area in my basement. I will take her straight to the vet for a heartworm test and a list of what all she needs on Tuesday as soon as I pick her up.

I will post the vet information on Monday and if you would like to contribute you can send or call in a contribution dirrectly to them.

I have pleanty of love, food and supplies and the rest will all fall into place for this old girl!

Mod Comment: Since Vickie seems to ignore the blocks and repeatedly so, each time she does, she will end up being blocked for a longer and longer period. If she persists, her internet address can be blocked for good. If she posts again, under another name, or yours, her block this time will last 2 weeks. Lime Sulfur dip can be had inexpensively. We used to provide discounted boarding to several rescue groups and were "gifted" with sarcoptic mange on several occasions. Medicated bathing followed by repeated use of Lime Sulfur dip worked every time. Stinks to high heaven and gives you a "yellow" stained dog for a few days, but who cares. Google "Lime Sulfur Dip" and you will find many inexpensive sources. Hope this helps.
