Mother Nature was none to kind to us here in northwestern Illinois 2 days ago when a tornado pretty much leveled our neighboring town of 200.  One warm day followed by a cold front made for some very strange weather.  Actually the funnels themselves kind of resembled the above photo.  We were lucky enough to have it break into 3 separate clouds that flew right over the field next to our house before it touched down again.  That's twice in the last couple of years that tornadoes have just skirted around us.  The last time it took down all the buildings at a local apple orchard but did not touch the trees.  This time as I drove through the damaged town, I saw one large frame farm house completely leveled and one next to it missing it's second floor while 100 feet away a collection of bee hives with vinyl covers went untouched.  Maybe someone's trying to tell us something.
