cost of semen, cost for vet and cost for shipping on their side and cost of ovulation timing on your side.

In Long Island............
1000 for semen (this cost varies of course).
 100 for vet
85 for shipping - requires special container and over night mail

In Houston........
progesterone tests are $66 each and you'll have to know the exact date to collect and ship the semen so you'll need 4 or 5 of them. lets say $260 if your lucky.

then add the cost for the vet to do his procedure -
could be regular insemination - $75
thru the cervix inseminating or - $150
surgical insemination $375

all of this depends on your bitch......

so if the dog is local, you still have to pay for the stud fee,  the vet fees, kit, progesterone testing - of and i forgot the brucellosis testing too.

Makes a BIG difference what type of insemination you are doing, which you didn't mention.   My most recent AI was surgical, so the price may not have any bearing on what you are doing.  The progsterone tests were 50.00 each, and I think we had 4 before she was ready to breed.  But you might have 1 or you might have 6, so it can really vary.  Also how many inseminations do they want to do?  With vaginal I know some places will do 2-3 inseminations, similar to the number of natural breedings you would do.

I'm in S. CA, but the place I use is www.caninecryobank.com  I can't access their website right now but I believe they have their prices listed right on the website.
