I have an 8 year old pure breed german shepard who needs a home now !
The dog is located on Long Island in the town of  East Rockaway, New York Zip Code 11518.
Please check Google Maps or Mapquest for the exact location.
She is a wonderful dog, well trained.
Not good with most other dogs, but great with children.
I have a 3 year old daughter and this dog has put up with some very rough playing and there has never been an incident whatsoever !
Time is of the essence, as we need to vacate our residence by November 30th.
Call or text anytime.

I think some of you are quick to judge people lately. I m not talking about you KC. You just asked a question. The economy sucks, people are losing their homes and some people are limited to moving into an affordable place that doesn't accept dogs. Sign of the times! Some places are worse than others.

So many are abandoning pets in vacant homes!  Sounds like this dog has been well loved and it's heartbreaking to know that they have to give her up.  He came to a place where someone should be able to help.  Best of luck placing your girl!

I'm so sorry to hear this poor girl must be surrendered. Have you contacted any rescue organizations? Shepherd's Hope German Shjepherd Rescue http://members.petfinder.org/~NY769/index.html    is in Bayside, NY and although they are unable to take anymore dogs right now, they may list your dog for you on www.petfinder.com  Also, I'm sure there are other rescue organizations in your area that might be able to help you.

Don, I get that. I've seen it, too. But since I split with my husband in '03 and lost the house I bought at only 20 years old, I've had to rent. It is not easy to rent with big dogs, but not impossible. I've found two townhomes and two houses I've been able to rent. We currently have 6 dogs (one in Germany right now) and our landlord is great about it. It's hard, but not impossible. Andrew, have you considered contacting your original breeder? I will take a dog back at any age, for any reason, no questions asked. Worth a try. Senior dogs are so special. This really breaks my heart.

Wish I could help out, but, I have 17 rescues, here right now, myself...
Let us know how it is going and if you found anyone to take her in. We may still be able to help out.
Thanks,Steph
