has anyone heard of a female being in heat and causing another female to also go into heat
if so is the second females heat a valid heat will it progress as usual or is it a false heat?
if false heat will it throw off her normal cycle ?

Pretty normal for that to happen in our kennel the females will come into heat one after the other or together within a day or two we don't have problems with split seasons usually and you can always use progesterone tests to determine mating times.

I always do progesterone tests and looking on vaginal sample every few days by microscope but there are no 100% method to determine mate date specially when we talk about prolonged or split estrus. Nature usually have its own unexpected flow. And that is very troublesome experience if you go for a few thousand kilometers for a trip to mate female and You fail. And do not know where you fail.

I always heard this and thought it was an old wives tale, until I had more than one female. I had one female that went into heat every 5 months like clockwork, then when another went into her 1st heat cycle the other came back into heat within 2 months of her last heat. I thought there was a problem, but vet test prove no problems.
All three of my girls go into heat within a week of each other so they are now all on the same cycle. It is no wives tale!
