those are extreme examples.....
the number of showline gsd with normal hind legs far outnumbers the few extremem examples.

i happen to have three showline gsd and none have gaits even similar to the videos.

Extreme examples? I see so many ads on the database with dogs just like that, and every single time someone tries to say oh it's a bad stack, or some other excuse.  It's far too common, and I've always thought the show lines looked like frogs in structure too.  The judge saying that is better for the breed and closer to the standard.....I'm not seeing it, if you look at them compared to the first known German Shepherds.  I've seen a few show lines I liked the overall structure of, but not too many.

Sitasmom, I'm curious, can I see a stacking picture of one of your dogs?  Not to criticize, just to see the difference from these and some of the others I've been seeing on the database.

GSDguy08   - Check this out !     Also, look under COLLECTIONS on the Left-hand side and the Historical List of VA1 Dogs.    My favorite -- Larus von Batu -- beautiful structure.    Of course, there are SL dogs with bad structure -- just as there are WL.

One example of overangulated GSD was posted and another of correctly angulated and built GSD was shown, a correct GSD is a correct GSD whether show or work, show breeders need to pay close attention to drive towards correct angulations and same applies to work breeders but from adversary perspective (hope last word spelling is correct).

Thanks Sitasmom, I do like your dogs.....It's just some of these ads I've seen from show line breeders....wow.  And Maggie I'll check that video when I get back later tonight.

Pedigree Dogs Exposed. BBC's "shockumentary."

It was subject of heated debate on several breed forums. I've seen the whole thing, and I'll admit I was a tad bit skeptical. They picked the worst of the worst examples, in my opinion. The way they protrayed it, every single showline GSD in the world has weak hocks, and every single breeder doesn't care about health, and continues to produce horribly inbreed, defective specimens of their chosen breed.

It focuses only on one side of the story, and paints all breeders and breed-lovers with the same brush.

I found the program horribly biased, and very misleading.

Not the least of which, I disliked how they used the term "Pedigree Dogs" rather than "Show Dogs," which I think sets up a stigma against any purebred, regardless of whether it's showline or workingline. Afteral, a pedigree is only a piece of paper showing lineage, nothing more. So any dog with a traceable lineage is "pedigreed." Of course that may be a cultural term in the UK. I'm not sure.
