Question regarding tattoo ears. 1). What's the ideal age to tattoo a puppy ear? 2). How hard would u press d device? For instance would u mash it so hard that u would come out d other side of d ear? 3). Have anyone ever had a puppy ear not stand because they were improperly tattoo? 4). Any tips out there?

One of mine was tattoo'd at 7 weeks, another at 12 weeks.  Neither had issues with ears standing.  Someone else did it so I'm not sure how hard they squeezed.

we have had puppies done at 7and half weeks and no problems at tall
I think the person we use is very very experienced indeed
and no yelping from the babies only 3-4 seconds

Seen tattoos go straight throught the ear with bleeding from both sides, but better to make sure it is done correctly once than have a bad tattoo result that needs to be repeated. Occassionally a puppy yelps, but they shake it off & forget a moment later. I kept mine very busy after tattooing, no time to think about it, no worse than having your ears pierced. And I think the tattoo'd ear stands quicker, because that ear has a little scar tissue to help it up. jackie harris

I microchip instead of tatooing. The microchips for me are not expensive, do not fade, do not interfere with ears standing and I use Home again which do not migrate.

I also find that the tattooed ear will stand first / do them at 71/2 weeks and most go all the way through the ear, a little blood is normal.
