I recently purchased a 3 Month old German Shepherd.  She was sold to me as an AKC dog, however I have not received the paperwork on her.

I have the DN #'s on her mother and father.....how do I find out information on them???

Hi

Without more information on what has transpired, ie;  have you spoken with the Breeder?

Registration Papers take time to be processed, can sometimes take months to receive.

If the Breeders response is suspect, you may want to start by contacting the AKC; http://www.akc.org/

I have spoken to the breeder.  The Dam is owned by Nancy Rhynard of Westwood Kennels and the Sire is owned by a gentleman in Beaver Falls, PA.  I am getting a run around by the both of them.  I don't know who to contact about this.  You can def tell that she is pureblood GS, I want to be able to trace the pedigree.  Is there anyone out there that can help me.  I want to be able to register her with the AKC.

Call AKC ,AKC  application on a US born litter should be given with puppy at time of placement.

I register a litter at 2 weeks old,the owner of the stud has to confirm the breeding, it can all be done by e-mail. I then get paperwork to register each puppy in the litter, usually within 2 weeks. When people pick up puppies at 8 weeks the paperwork is ready for them to register the puppy. Something is not right, you never should have purchased the puppy if there were no papers to see/take home. Is it possible the puppy was sold to someone else then returned? Or the parents aren't really registered or.....you see-there could be many reasons;none good for you if you wanted an AKC registered puppy. Good luck unraveling the real reason.

Does your contract say they sold you a AKC  puppy?   The parents may be AKC registered but limited registration which means that  the pups cannot be.
Good Luck and let us know

My Mal puppies are now 9 weeks old and I do not yet have registration back.  I imported Mom from Croatia - it took months to get her registration from Croatia, then sent it to AKC then had to do DNA on her.  Sire died earlier this year so we did a surgical AI which requires even more info from vet on application.
