Over the last couple of weeks we have been installing new dog runs complete with concrete floors. This led to various workmen coming and going from our yard. Now, the fence company has done work here previously and know full well you DO NOT enter our yard without assistance, the concrete folks were also given the instructions to follow. Now we have a 6 ft industrial chain link fencing with gate as you first start to enter our yard, there is a 8 x 10" bright yellow sign with big black letters which states DO NOT ENTER Ring Bell For Assistance and a door bell is mounted right on the fence post. There is also a no tresspassing sign and dog on premisis signs every 15 feet. We have never had any problems with anyone following the instructions. Well the idiot who was here and installed fencing in April came back and removed all the old kennels, the concrete folks did part of their stuff and then this idiot comes back to set poles. He just walks on in, ignores the sign - never rings the bell and guess what - my protection dog came out. He of course ran to the guy and was doing a perfect bark & hold. I told the fool to stand still and what does he do but draw his arm back as if the hit the dog. Oops, fortunately Q remembered the lesson about out and return to the handler which he did beautifully. I tell this idiot once again to stand still while I confine the dog - of course he decided to ignore me and started towards me. This time Q got his shorts which he proceded to remove leaving the guy in his underwear. I recalled Q, got him in the house and the half naked moron left. No injuries other than his pride and a couple of scratch marks.
I swear people are idiots, the gate now has a padlock on it. It is a pain but it is obvious idiots can not/ do not read.

I can see all of this clearly in my mind. LOL! bet he listens next time.
Yeah they sure are. That's why you kennel them when you know someone is coming instead of loose in the yard.
Good Answer Don!!
As for unexpected visitors, who knows why they miss or ignore signs, therefore I keep all my gates padlocked. While trained dogs provide security and peace of mind, they are in fact a liability, one which I am prepared to accept. You have try and foresee potential problems and eliminate them. It’s a pain, but neccessary
For better compliance your sign should read like this, (Read Or You Will Get red of your clothes, choose what best suits you For Today).
There was a case I worked on, that person had got bitten by a dog. There was a sign saying,"Beware of dog". and the defendant still entered. He sued the dog owner and won on the grounds he could not read.....I know in the case of this post, it may have been different...He probably could read...
My point is, not all people can read or comprehend what they read...It may be something to think about....Might be a good idea of posting signs that have the mean looking dog's mouth open on it...at least it covers a little more than just words.....Since that case, those are the one's I have...
Not only could this person not read they also couldn't follow direction when it was obviously important... Is it possible there was a language barrier or was this person that thick headed?
For future reference I would have a picture sign put up... just as a C.Y.A precaution.
Maybe if you have a talented friend they could sketch a short comic.
first panel: a finger ringing a bell, next panel shows you walking with them past happy nonchalant dogs.
option 2
first panel shows person just walking on property next panel shows mutated werewolf type dog with a bloody severed arm in its mouth.
If they ignore that then I think we must accept that some people just don't need to be apart of the gene pool
Word of Caution on Signs- Beware of Dog or similar signs can get you in trouble because you are telling people that you have a dangerous or potentially dangerous dog in your yard.
My signs, posted around my acreage say "do not tresspass, do not enter property, Large dogs loose"

I have a sign and my gates are padlocked. If they get through or over the gate, it's on them.
Yes, Pirates Lair, that was another issue in that case which was to the defendant's advantage..... The defense argued that the owner knew the dog was potentially dangerous......Its a double edge sword with the signs....Every situation has its own circumstances, and each state has its laws....Research the law for your state....JMO
