Ok, are there any electronic know-it-alls here? I thought I was going to get a new Invisible fence micro collar upgrade, but since my dog's collar has been lost for weeks, they wouldn't honor the upgrade sale price, even when I asked them to make an exception for me, their very good customer! I said I'd gladly send them the old collar if I find it, I only have one dog!

So when they said NO, I said sell me your cheapest. Then the guy starts adding in extra time charges (he made a phone call to ask his manager if they'd give me a break!), so I told him I wasn't going to buy anything or pay anything, since he did nothing and I got nothing.

Does anybody know when I can figure out what frequency I am on, if I can find an off brand replacement collar that will work? I mean really, my dog doesn't even need it anymore, but how long that will last.... I don't want to take the chance.

Thanks for any help.

It looks like your "dealer" uses the Invisible fence brand...

You can try contacting them directly here...

www.invisiblefence.com/contact_us/index.asp

They might only sell to other dealers...  but there are LOTS of dealers...

Your system should have a transmitter unit that they installed somewhere on your property.. that would be connected to the wires, or antenna, that is buried underground.
Find the transmitter unit, and it will have a serial number printed on it, and also the frequency at which it is transmitting a signal.

Tell the Invisible fence company about your problem with your "dealer", and see if they will work directly this one time with you.. or if they won't, get a list of other "dealers" who sell their product and contact each one till you find one that will work with you.

As a last resort, you might have to change brands of fence.. but the labor intensive part (burying the wire/antenna) is already done, so it would be easier to install a different brand to the exisiting antenna (wires).

Good luck...

Thanks!  The frequency box is on top of the garage ceiling, I'll wait for my DH to get home and climb the ladder to find the frequency.  And I will see about calling directly to Invisible fence, you'd think a business would care about a little good will with their longstanding customers. We shall see.
